CSPH DG, Okie Johnson, sends Nguti in frenzy “Paul Biya Peace Tournament”

The Director General, DG, of the Hydrocarbon Prizes Stabilization Fund (CSPH), Okie Johnson Ndoh, has launched the 2nd edition of a sports jamboree involving the 12 clans of Nguti Subdivision.
The clans include Bebum, Lower-Mbo, Nkweh, Bachui, Akweh, Bafu, Banyui, Lower- Nkongho, Mbaa, Ngeme- Ngoe, Abongoe, and Mbemsi.
The jamboree is in honour of the Head of State, President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul Biya. The competition, dubbed: "Paul Biya's Peace, Unity and Solidarity Tournament," was launched on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in Nguti Town, headquarters of Nguti Subdivision.
This was done in the presence of the Divisional Officer, DO, of Nguti Subdivision, Boog Jean Calvin. In attendance were the representative of the DG of CSPH, Atuba Kevin; Member of Parliament for Kupe Muanenguba II Constituency, Hon Dr Fonge Julius Fongouck; Mayor of the Nguti Council, Tong George Enoh; Brigade Commander; Regional Councillors; CPDM Section President for Kupe Muanenguba II, Heads of de-concentrated services; Municipal Councillors; Elites; Chiefs; Clergy; and a cross section of the population.
Addressing the population, the representative of the Director General of CSPH, Atuba Kevin, thanked the population for the massive turnout to witness the launch of the competition.
He noted the sponsor, Okie Johnson, would have loved to be in Nguti for the launch of the competition but unfortunately, he travelled out of the country for an assigned duty.
On behalf of the DG, he urged the various stakeholders to fully implement fair play through out the competition.
The tournament he stressed, will be done under the canopy of peace, unity, and solidarity, which he said reflects the quality and nature of the Nguti man.
The football competition he added is to re-awaken the children on the awareness of school resumption as well as the fight against illicit drug consumption in the mundane society of Nguti.
Earlier, the Mayor of Nguti Council, Tong George Enoh, said the organisation of the tournament, is a wonderful initiative that cut across the entire municipality.
He wished the theme of the competition should reflect in the the event so as to give the tournament the pomp and fanfare it deserves.
Speaking afterwards, the Divisional Officer of Nguti Subdivision, Boog Jean Calvin, congratulated the initiator and chief organiser of the competition, Okie Johnson, for always thinking of his people back home.
He underscored such activities are good as the youths are kept busy during holidays, and also to protect them against bad companies.
Both used the occasion to call on parents and guardians to constantly sensitise the younger ones on the dangers of the consumption of hard drugs.
On his part, the Member of Parliament, MP, for Kupe Muanenguba II said Pa Okie Johnson is a bonafide son of the Division who has his people at heart.
The initiative, he underscored, left no community or child behind as it include all the 12 clans of the Subdivision. He lauded him for the kind gesture and noted that his initiatives are always mind-blowing.
Meanwhile, the Section President of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM, party for Kupe Muanenguba II, Ajang Evaristus, said the ball has been set rolling by the DG and it is time for the various actors to play with passion, compassion, and fair play.
Ajang urged party militants to partake massively in future elections and applauded the Divisional Officer and Mayor for constant collaboration.
The event that also witnessed the donation of books to kids, pupils, and students, was spiced with cultural dance from the Muaningwasseh Cultural Group, Basosi Women Group, among others.
The launch of the tournament rounded off with heavy feasting in the Nguti Council Hall.
