About 50 Diaspora youths who participated at CINA-JEDI 2026, motion President Biya

Close to 50 beneficiaries of the maiden edition of the National Integration Camp for Youth of the Diaspora (CINA-JEDI 2026) that held in Yaounde, Douala and Kribi last August 6-14, 2026 have sent a motion through the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou to the President of the Republic, Paul Biya requesting for the perennialization of the event. The Minister then called on the representative of the Governor of the Centre region at the event and handed the motion for onward transmission to the Head of State.
The motion was sent last August 13, 2026 at the conviviality hall of the National Museum in Yaounde as the Youth Affairs and Civic Education boss granted a press conference before offering a gala night to the kids.
The Minister also used the occasion to announce the launching of the 2nd edition of the National Citizenship Games at the University of Yaoundé I next August 16, 2026.
Holding under the theme "roots and wings: reconstructing with the land of the ancestors to build the future," this first edition enabled these children to be reconnected to their historical roots.
Speaking at the occasion, Minister Mounouna Foutsou said, ‘‘designed as a national platform for cultural immersion, civic engagement, dialogue and discovery, the camp allowed young Cameroonians abroad including second and third generation descendants to reconnect with their heritage, better understand contemporary realities, strengthen their sense of belonging, and build lasting ties with institutions, territories and communities.’’
Beyond its educational and cultural dimension, the Youth Affairs and Civic Education boss said CINA-JEDI sought to lay the foundation for an international network of young ambassadors of the Cameroonian Diaspora, capable of promoting the country's image worldwide, contributing to local development initiatives and serving as a bridge between their countries of residence and their land of origin.
The Minister invited all Cameroonian parents living in the Diaspora to let their children actively take part at upcoming editions to be organised each year by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education.
He stressed that identity, cultural, civic and patriotic reconnection among young Cameroonians of the Diaspora thereby strengthening their sense of belonging to the nation and their commitment to building the Cameroon of tomorrow.
