The 11th edition of the University Festival of Arts and Culture (UNIFAC) officially kicked off last December 5, 2025 at the National Advanced School of Posts, Telecommunications, Information and Communication Technologies (SUP’PTIC) in Yaounde under the theme “UNIFAC: A showcase for the professionalization of entrepreneurship and artistic and cultural innovation in universities.”
Officially opening UNIFAC 2025 on behalf of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education and Chancellor of Academic Orders, Prof Jacques Fame Ndongo, the Inspector General of Services, Prof Edgard Patrick Abane Engolo called on the participating students to showcase artistic and cultural excellence at the service of future profession.
Speaking in the presence of Vice-Chancellors, Rectors of State Universities, representatives of members of government, officials of MINESUP, State Universities, promoters of private higher institution of learning and students, he stressed that, ‘‘the university community are all gathered to celebrate artistic, cultural and entrepreneurship creation.’’
This edition seeks to be a platform for the expression of talents and the reinforcement of creative competences at the service of national development.
The Minister of State’s representative also congratulated the Director of the Students Assistance and University Works, Dr Wanah Litumbe Theresia and her team who worked hard to organise this artistic and cultural exchange platform that seeks to valorise and promote living together in the diverse Cameroonian cultural aspects in the university milieu.
He invited ‘‘students and the people of Yaoundé to rally together, with their renowned spirit of hospitality, to make this 11th edition of the University Festival of Arts and Culture the most magnificent university artistic celebration of this seven-year term of Greatness and Hope. May friendship, show of talent, merit, ethics, fairness, and fair play be the sole guidelines of your efforts throughout this festival. Together, let us say no to hate speech, to misinformation and to cheating.’’
UNIFAC will offer them till December 10, 2025, the opportunity to showcase their talents in a colloquium on this year’s theme, capacity building artistic and cultural workshop, cultural animation, a concours in 16 disciplines in 20 different artistic and literally genres.
