Elections Cameroon, ELECAM organised last September 9, 2025 in Yaoundé, a workshop for the training of trainers, in prelude to the October 12, 2025 presidential election in Cameroon. The workshop was officially opened by Deputy Director General of Election at ELECAM, Abdoulkarimou, who urged the Delegates and other senior staff of the institution to permanently be on the alert ahead of the D-Day.
During the opening, Abdoulkarimou reminded them that ELECAM is going through a crucial moment right now in terms of preparation for the upcoming poll.
Abdoukarimou explained that ‘‘we are training a group of people in the field. And we have invited some of them to join us. They are training volunteers. They are the leaders of the regional delegations. And they are going to go down to the field in the days ahead to train other collaborators at the regional level.’’
The Deputy Director General of Election hinted that, ‘‘having a great electoral capacity, thanks to the electoral law, thanks to electoral practices, is, from my point of view, a crucial moment, an important moment, to which we cannot sacrifice.’’
An expert from the University of Yaounde II, Soa, Jean Daniel Bombela told the press that, ‘‘there are people who already have experience in the electoral field, but here we are training the trainers, those who will go and train others in the field. So, people who are already equipped, who already have a very important cognitive load, who will amplify, recall, and bring back to the surface the electoral knowledge that the agents already have. So, one day is not enough to open the gates, but it must be said that it is a continuous process until the D-Day of the electoral process.”
He added that, ‘‘it is a training that is pursued every day and with the help of agents.’’
