Anglophone crisis: Tension mounts after military operation in Jakiri

By NEB A tense atmosphere has resurfaced in Cameroon’s North West region, following a recent military operation in Ndzerem-Nyam, a locality in Jakiri Subdivision, Bui Division, North West. According to a statement issued by Head of Military Communication, Atonfack Guemo Cyrille Serge, the operation which was carried out in the early hours of Sunday, April 2026, was aimed “to neutralise dangerous terrorists of diverse factions united under the command of self-styled ‘General Capo’”, whom the military maintained were preparing violent attacks to be executed in the region.
