Workers and institutions were celebrated at the 5th edition of WorkUp Cameroon last April 29, 2026 in Yaounde, during a Gala Night organised under the auspices of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute. The event was chaired by the Personal Representative of the PM, the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Grégoire Owona.
In the category of WorkUp Cameroon Special Prize for 2026, the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund better known by its French acronym, CSPH was awarded Best Enterprise for the Public Sector in 2026. The Prize was handed by the Ambassador of WorkUp Cameroon, Serge Ngassa of Swiss Cocoa Valley Farms.
Several other companies and workers were distinguished at the occasion with the different recipients receiving various prizes such as laptops, wifi internet boxes, scholarships for professional training etc.
The 5th edition of WorkUp Cameroon started last April 27 with exhibition stands at the esplanade of the Centre Regional Council under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute.
Speaking at the occasion, the representative of PM Dion Ngute said, “This event, which thus becomes a major event, within the 140th edition of the International Labour Day, testifies to the vitality of our professional world. I welcome the initiative of the Cameroonian Agency for Communication and the mutual support of the journalists. By going from the great night of workers to WorkUp Cameroon, you do not only change the name but you raise the standards.’’
Saluting Zepherin Koloko for this initiative on behalf of the PM, the Labour and Social Security boss said ‘‘work in Cameroon must be done with excellence, innovation, and appreciation.”
In his welcome statement, the President of the Organising Committee of the 5th edition of WorkUp Cameroon, Zepherin Koloko said, “thanks to the public and private enterprises whose active participation illustrates their central role in the creation of wealth and opportunity. I am reminded of the multiple partners and patrons who, often in the shadows, have inspired by their actions the success of this 5th edition of WorkUp Cameroon. Their discretion does not take anything away from the importance of their contributions.’’
