Militants express optimism

Before now, government has accompanied us in several areas and is still doing so. So the Prime Minister is right on track when he said the government of Cameroon has PAMOL and CDC in mind. The both establishments have benefitted a lot from the government and we still hope to benefit more especially with the reassuring words from the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute. There are some key areas that we are expecting the government today intervene particularly in our rehabilitation.

I can only say I’m a very elated section president. Especially as I double as the Mayor of Buea and as a citizen of Cameroon, precisely origin of South West region. Those projects are projects that people have been using and painting them black as if they were projects of propaganda. But now you see how far they have gone. As His Excellency the Prime Minister said, the government machinery grinds slowly but surely. And those are projects that will greatly impact not just the socioeconomic and political situation of our region, but it’s equally going to have a very positive impact on the livelihood of the population of the South West region in particular Cameroon as a whole.
So I’m very elated, I’m very happy. And it’s a sort of push factor, a rallying call for all of us to go and inform those who don’t know of this and encourage others to come on board and let’s work together for the victory of the president. This project we see will come to fruition because another person might come and he dumps them. So we have a reason to stand by the Head of State, a natural candidate to realise these project after the October elections. We are going not just to wait for that, but we are going to work. We equally listened to the papers presented by comrades of our party and I think they were on point.
I want to appreciate and thank them and especially thank the convener of this very great meeting. Such meetings, you know, are meant to plan and it has always been said, and it’s a matter of fact, that if you fail to plan then you are planning to fail. So you can see that we are planning because we are planning to succeed.

First of all, our region has gained a lot and so the South West has always, we have always given our support. We are always behind the Head of State. Having had three Prime Ministers, we cannot and we will never, never try to see that the South West does not vote. If we are going to vote 100%, first of all, know that all the councils are CPDM. So we are sure of winning. Now, the only thing we know is that you don’t count your eggs or your chicken before they are hatched. So we know that. That’s why we want to put more effort. And as we’ve been told, we’ll put more effort in the nooks and crannies of our villages and we are going to win. We won in 2018. We have won in all of these years, even with the crisis. So this year is a better year and we are going to do better than we did.

Traditional rulers are apolitical but for the fact that the traditional rulers represent their population, it means that there should be that cordiality, there should be that togetherness with us and our people back home. We have just assured them that we have to go back to our various villages, to our various constituencies, to preach what the permanent delegate brought to us.

It was quite a good meeting and I think that the message was very clear; that let us go back to our grassroots and ensure that proper mobilisation is done at that level, also sensitisation concerning the biometric registration and that we should ensure that the population should be inscribed in the biometric registration.
For the PM, he merely just gave an oversight, a rundown of what he’s already doing as the head of government. And of course, we trust him and he has given us his word and we believe in it. My municipality is very strong and behind the CPDM party. Of course, that’s why I’m the Mayor. They elected me to ensure that they have good development at that level and I’m working very hard to ensure that. And they believe in me. I’m taking back the message to them. To tell them that first thing; you cannot decide a president of a nation like this without inscribing in the biometric registration in the electoral books. So I am going to tell them just the truth. And as usual, we are going to work in synergy as a family.

We are having this meeting at a time that the country is getting set for Presidential Elections and it is so timely that CPDM militants/stakeholders of the South West region have come here to fine-tune our preparations for the upcoming election. As a matter of fact, the CPDM has one natural candidate who is His Excellency, President Paul Biya. From what you have heard in the hall, we are all set to make sure that we elevate our lone candidate to emerge victorious in the upcoming election. On behalf of the population of Kumba I, I will say we are so grateful for everything that His Excellency President Paul Biya has done and even through the ministries that he incarnates. We are preparing to express our gratitude for all of these projects by making sure that we stand by him in the elections that are forthcoming.
We expect our lone candidate to continue in realising those very giant projects he has already initiated, some of which are ongoing. You will bear with me that Africa and not just Cameroon is getting into a different kind of era which is an era of a different phase in development and Cameroon cannot be left aside and so we are assured that the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya has quite much to do and he can only succeed in doing that once he is given another license to stand in there as President of the Republic of Cameroon.
